Read The (Mis)Adventures of Mima here:

There are new ways to organize the TL;DR page in case you're interested. Instead of just by alphabetical order, you can arrange the comics by both the order that I reviewed them in, and by their final ranking! The latter was honestly sorely needed, I feel, whereas the former is just there in case you're curious.

Next up: Maverick Daze by MasterTalon.

I'm mostly confused by why Meira of all people is in this. The only other PC-98 era character I see here is Mima herself, but Mima is actually pretty popular and was a recurring character back in the old games, while Meira was a one-off boss.

For the sake of context: The first five games in the Touhou series were for the PC-98, and everything after that has been for Windows. The Windows era has been treated as something of a "reboot" - almost nothing from the PC-98 era has been so much as acknowledged in any material onwards, even stuff like general biographies which cover most of the Windows characters. Heck, only four characters have been in both era, with Reimu and Marisa already being protagonists, Alice being very different, and Yuuka barely even appearing in Windows-era stuff.

I do find it giggle-worthy that you concluded that Marisa was the main protagonist. Certainly, she's a protagonist in almost every installment, but between her and Reimu I think the latter fits that slot more due to being around from the first game, while Marisa debuted in the second as a boss (as a pupil of Mima, actually!).

Hm, not much for sprite comics... Well you probably won't like my stuff >.< lel.

T_T @Ultimate Yoshi: I'm still angry at you for killing off Keito. YOU JUMPED THE SHARK, MAN! YOU JUMPED THE SHARK! I hope that Kibble dude gets offed himself for that stunt he pulled. Either way, YOU'VA MADE ME VERY, VERY CROSS. >8(

@Trevor the Hedgehog : .......Erm.

Reply Kebi_in_your_pants, March 18th, 2015, 10:00 pm

@Trevor the Hedgehog : This isn't the place to talk about Keito's death.

I find these rants mildly annoying IMO, but it's good to see that someone feels attachment to a character. Means your doing a good job.

Lol, it got the exact same rating as my other Touhou comic.

Boring? Huh, I never really thought of it as boring... I guess I'll at least try to remedy that in the future... Thanks for the review.

The reason I threw Meira in was because I needed a character who might have known Mima who wasn't named Alice, Marisa, Yuuka, or Reimu. Meira seemed the most logical choice.

@Blizzard: He likes sprite comics, he DOES sprite comics, the thing here is that this comic seems to only use one pose, and that seems boring.

I'm considering asking for a review of 20 Times Kirby, but there are some problems I have...

- 600+ pages is too much to fit in a review. If you write it on a single page, a LOT will be lost. I saw what you did with Kirby's Dream Adventure, though, maybe the same thing could be done?
- Since the comic is still in progress I'm afraid you'll point out stuff that was not explained yet that will be explained in the future. (Though it's not a bad thing as long as you don't consider them as, you know, plot holes. Pointing them out only can help me remember I have to explain some stuff.) Same goes even for character development, and maybe even more stuff. The thing is that you can't see the future and know what I plan on explaining, mainly because sometimes it can be spoilers.
- You know how I don't like reviews, specially with scores. However, I wanted some C+C, mainly now that it has been a while since you last posted some C+C on the comments there. Maybe this is too much to ask, but is it possible to have it without any score?

So, thoughts on what I (we?) could do?

@Gigi19972010: If I were to do a 20 Times Kirby review, I'd definitely do an In-Depth Review as I did with Kirby's Dream Adventure.

I'd be willing to point out that if I'm feeling confused it may be due to it being planned for something else later. Reviewing something in-progress in a lot of detail will probably just make sure you're more aware of things you have to wrap up later on that you already planned to.

I'd also be willing to have no score for the individual reviews themselves, since I kinda regret doing that with the KDA chapter reviews anyway, but not for a wrap-up overall review. I can elaborate on this further if you so desire, but I'll just say for now that I'd rather not have a encompassed review to lack a score, not so much for your benefit (since really, an individual score doesn't mean much for the author) but for the readers of this "comic".

@Ultimate Yoshi:

I actually agree with the way you'd do the review; giving scores to only parts of the comic doesn't feel right. And I was almost sure I wouldn't be able to escape from ALL scores, since it's the way you do these reviews, though I understand that's what you do here and I respect it (even though I'm not a big fan of it no matter what).
In any case, I'm still not sure about it; I'll think a bit more before asking for a review. If I really decide to do it, I'll tell you. Anyway, for now, thanks for answering.

Ah... Walfas. An easy thing to use for non-drawers.

My way of doing it is solid and to see a Walfas comic on SJ brightens up my day. I can understand it being boring, but with Walfas, you can make it fun as hell if you wanted to. A good example of it is at DA group place known as the Walfas Station Wagon. It's a strange place and has a variety of people in it.

And with variety, comes fun comics, though, some may make you question the sanity that happens there and you think:

"What is this, TUMBLR?"

Fun times.

@Gigi19972010: ...Huh, that conversation actually went pretty well considering that last time you were here you guys had a rather heated argument.

If ya'll wanna learn more about Touhou, click here!

I suggest learning about the characters first instead of just going in like a lunatic.

Speaking of Lunatic, here's this;

You've got some lovely reviews and I really love how you like to take a neutral point of view for you reviews - it's the best kind. :) I was wondering if you could review my comic, Sketch Dump? Thank you. :)

Reply Ultimate Yoshi, April 24th, 2015, 11:05 am

Sorry about the lack of reviews lately, guys. I've been having motivation troubles. It's nothing to do with the comic I have next to read, it's just me.

Reply Jarkes, April 25th, 2015, 8:38 am

@Ultimate Yoshi: I'm guessing that's also why it's been nearly a month since the last Kirby Adventure page?

Reply witswithme, May 22nd, 2015, 6:46 pm

Got another comic for ya, Ulti.

@Ultimate Yoshi:
The backgrounds are also from Create.swf. I definitely agree that it's a bit lazy.
