Read Kirby's Moonlight here: http://kirbys-moonlight.smackjeeves.com/

This comic went better than expected, though it did take a few rereads to catch some of the things that I somehow missed.

Next up: Kirby Funfest! by DarkNut255.

Wait, so putting sprites in a predominantly drawn comic is bad, but putting drawings in a predominantly sprite-based comic is fine?

...Something about that doesn't seem right...

Reply Ultimate Yoshi, May 29th, 2013, 10:20 pm

@Jarkes: The main reason why it doesn't work as well one way as it does the other is because sprite comics generally are seen as a, well, lack of effort. Even if this isn't true, half the visual effects are done for you in sprite comics, so there's less effort there no matter what. However, taking time to put in a drawn panel, even if it is jarring, it takes more effort than a sprite panel, so its generally more acceptable. With the other way around, though, its a visual step-back, going from what's normally conceived as a higher effort task to a lower effort task. Also, it just depends on where its being used. If its being used for dramatic effect or for something that just can't really be pulled off in one visual medium, then its definitely more acceptable. In the examples found in Kirby's Moonlight, it just seemed incredibly out-of-place and didn't seem to have any dramatic, emotional, or comedical effect.

And that's why I stick to off-screen happenings for things I can't sprite. Less arguments that way.

@Ultimate Yoshi:

Are we supposed to PM you or just comment here if we want a comic reviewed?

Reply Ultimate Yoshi, May 30th, 2013, 2:25 pm

@--Floob--: Either one works, though a comment will probably help me remember better, admittedly.

I'd LIKE for my comic, "Kirby's Dream Land If..." to get reviewed... but it's way too early to ask. I take it you'll hold on that offer? :P

Reply Ultimate Yoshi, May 30th, 2013, 5:11 pm

@D00D64: Sure thing, I'll add it to the end of my list permanently. Just say when, and it can be unpermanent-ed and things can come after it again.

For some reason, I'd find it very amusing if you reviewed the original version of your "Yoshi & Kirby" comic.

@Ultimate Yoshi: I'd like my comic to be added to the waiting list for review. It's called Metal Sonic: The Path of Anguish. The comic is actually a mini series with a set number of comics as the end goal, so even though there's only 15 or so up, proportionately it's actually pretty far along in the story.
